The picture above pretty much sums up my feelings right now. No, I have not landed a book publishing contract (yet...) but the next best thing is about to happen. The return of the Walking Dead! Season Premiere starts in half an hour! I've been waiting months for this, like many of the rabid fans. There's so much to love about this show, the writing (naturally) the actors, (take a look at this beefcake - Daryl) and of course killing zombies, talk about your Hunger Games!
Actually, one of the best things about the fall is the return of some of my favorite shows which includes American Horror Story (I have a good feeling about this season's Freak Show), Reign (All things medieval, just can't get enough - it is medieval, right?), and I heard Helix is coming back in January, gotta have my scifi fix. I hate winter but at least there's something to look forward. Not to mention, the fun of all the paranormal shows and movies, with more offerings in October. With all the great shows, it's hard to find time to write. But write I will - along with a few of my other interests like painting and acting. Here's a couple of things I've painted recently. A ceramic plate and a tray for Halloween.
As for writing, I'm submitting short stories, as well as my novel, and working to finish other writing projects which includes a story about a young girl who discovers she has magical powers - think Sabrina the teenage witch for today's generation and a science fiction story focusing on some scary new technology. Is there any other kind? Plus I've fleshed out a Christmas play which I hope to enter in the one act theater festival next year. This is going to be a very busy winter. I've also been learning about DPOV (deep point of view) and will be discussing that on my next blog.
Well it's almost time for my favorite show, so I'm going to be signing off now. But I promise to be better about posting with more frequency and offer what I've learned about DPOV and how we can all strengthen our stories using it.
