Currently, I’m taking an awesome writing class with Boston’s Grub Street writers program. It’s called 6 Weeks, 6 Stories. Though thanks to the ceaseless snowy weather, we’ve had several cancellations and it’s starting to look more like 6 months instead of 6 weeks. I’m joking of course. However, spending six months with this instructor and this group of writers would actually be wonderful because I am learning quite a bit and despite our weather woes, it is turning out to be a great experience.
I’ve posted my homework today which has not yet been critiqued, so it is still in its “virgin” state. We were tasked to write 500 words or less about a time or place set in the past. Our interpretation of “historic” could be broad. My hope, is that without stating the exact year the story takes place or the specific event about to unfold, the reader will know what the story is about based upon the details provided. A picture would help but I’m afraid that would give it away.
